Dina Perry “Groomer Of The Century”
Dina Perry is definitely a pet grooming industry “Diva,” starting in Minneapolis in 1969 where she had four salons and six mobile units. She moved to Michigan in 1980, and the entrepreneur that she is, soon had several businesses including: 22 mobile salons working out of three locations; several stationary salons; the Michigan School of Canine Cosmetology; Wag’n Tails Pet Motel; and Top-Knot High Velocity Dryer Company. Dina realized the need for a company that specialized in building mobile units and opened Wag’n Tails Mobile Conversions, which is now owned by her son Dennis Gnetz.
A Groom Team USA Coordinator for two years and subsequent Board member, Dina received the Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award for Congeniality in 1993.
She is an internationally recognized Groom Team USA competitor, contest judge, consultant, and lecturer. Dina has completed the training/judge’s orientation required by the United Show Manager’s Alliance, and was approved as a Sanctioned Judge.
Dina is the only person ever awarded “Groomer of the Century” by the Cardinal Crystal Awards.
“I’ve devoted a great deal my life to furthering the profession of pet grooming. Throughout my career I’ve looked for ways to elevate the industry. I have tried to educate my fellow pet stylists on not just grooming, but what is takes to be a successful business person.”
She is presently active speaking at pet grooming and ABKA shows throughout the country. Her seminar topics range from running a mobile grooming business to build the perfect pet resort.
