What is the most important aspect for pet owners of Shetland Sheepdogs when it comes to grooming? The removal of the shedding undercoat! It’s a real problem for pet owners. They love their dog, but not all the hair.

In this lesson, Michell Evans shows you some great tips on how to groom a pet Sheltie. One of the most incredible lessons was an elementary one. In all of our years grooming at a professional level, we’ve never seen anyone explain how to work efficiently with a stand blow dryer. Michell does. Not only does it get the dog dry, but it also aids in removing all that dead coat.

Many sheltie owners struggle with the amount of coat their dogs carry. Michell shows you a way to shorten the coat while still retaining the shiny topcoat. She uses long blending shears to get a very natural look. Michelle talks about how the blender actually cuts the coat and why they leave such beautiful finish.

Michell also leads you through discussion about the sani-area along with whether whiskers should betrimmed or not trimmed on a pet.

Although this dog is far from a show dog, by the time Michelle gets done with him, he looks stunning.

In this video you will learn:

• how to work efficiently with your stand dryer.

• how the large chunking blenders cut to leave a natural finish.

• how to shorten the longer furnishings on a Sheltie.

• how to establish the shape of the chest for balance.

• how to minimize mats behind the ears.
